Group Tours and Field Trips

To reserve a tour for your school or community group (10 or more individuals), please visit our Online Reservation page. We ask that you please contact us at least two weeks in advance to schedule your tour. You can also schedule your visit by phone at (608)-264-7663 or email

 Tour Options: All tours are FREE and last about one hour.

  • Guided Tours: All guided tours are conducted by volunteer docents, many of which are veterans whose perspectives provide a unique visitor experience. Guided tours are available to groups of ten but no larger than sixty individuals.

    Civil War Specific Guided Tours
    are available to groups no larger than 60. These tours focus on our Civil War Gallery and last up to one hour. For groups larger than 30 but smaller than 60, the group will be split into two and students will also complete a 20th Century Gallery Scavenger Hunt. 
  • Self-Guided Tours: Explore the museum galleries at your own pace.

  • Scavenger Hunts: Use our scavenger hunt booklets to guide your museum experience. Scavenger hunts booklets are available in grade specific formats for K-12 and have a new S.T.E.M. focus to enrich your students experience at the museum.
