Wisconsin veterans are encouraged to tell their stories. The Wisconsin Veterans Oral History Program is committed to recording and preserving these stories.
Importance and Use
Veterans stories help us understand the nature of individual service and sacrifice and are used by teachers, students, military researchers, and the general public.
Your story is also extremely important for family members and descendants, too. As a courtesy a CD copy of your interview will be mailed to you after the interview.
Who Interviews Me?
Adult volunteers, who are usually veterans themselves, are trained to conduct the interviews.
Choose To Preserve Other Materials
Many interviewees also donate
their military-related letters, diaries, photographs, scrapbooks, or artifacts.
Yes! I want to tell my story.
