SUMMARY:A Closer Look at Operation Allies Refuge & Operation Allies Welcome
DESCRIPTION:In the aftermath of the 2021 Kabul Airport (HKIA) evacuation\, the U.S. Military set up processing bases in Italy\, Germany\, Spain\, Qatar\, UAE & Kuwait. The more than 80\,000 evacuees were then transported to bases stateside (VA\, TX\, NM\, WI\, IN\, NJ).\nTwo remarkable Veterans – COL Jeff Patton & BG Dan Gabrielli – who were assigned leadership posts at bases in Germany and New Mexico respectively will share their accounts of facilitating the largest airlift in American history. Wisconsin Adjutant General Knapp will share stories and images from Fort McCoy which served as one of the largest processing centers in the country for our Afghan allies.\nThe permanent status of many of these evacuees remains uncertain as the Afghan Adjustment Act continues to be debated in the nation’s capital.\nJoin our very own Chris Kolakowski along with Randal Dietrich of the Minnesota Military and Veterans Museum as they moderate the discussion.\nThis event is free and will be held via Zoom.\nRegister Here
