Distinguished Lecture: Elvis and the Atomic Army

A Distinguished Lecture event
Elvis and the Atomic Army
Presenter: Brian Linn
Author and Professor of History at Texas A&M

Join Brian Linn, Professor of History at Texas A&M University at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum for a discussion about his book: Elvis and the Atomic Army.
In an era that threatened nuclear annihilation, the 1950s US Army claimed it could limit atomic warfare to the battlefield. It also declared it could turn Elvis and millions of his comrades into skilled warriors and patriotic citizens. Largely forgotten today, this unique American military experiment is crucial to understanding both Cold War America and today’s armed forces.
