Organization The 49th Wisconsin Infantry regiment was organized at Camp Randall, Madison, Wisconsin, leaving the State on March 8, 1865, and proceeding to St. Louis, MO. Organization The 47th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment was organized at Camp Randall in Madison, Wisconsin, on February 27, 1865. Active Duty The regiment left the state on February 27th and traveled to Louisville, Kentucky. Shortly thereafter, it was transferred to Tullahoma, Tennessee. The regiment was stationed in Tullahoma until late August
