20th Annual WVMF Golf Outing, Sponsored by U.S. Vet General Contracting LLC

The Oaks Golf Course 4740 Pierceville Rd, Cottage Grove, WI

The 20th annual Wisconsin Veterans Museum Foundation golf outing, sponsored by U.S. Vet General Contracting LLC, is scheduled for Monday, July 15, 2024. The event will take place from 9 AM - 5:30 PM at the beautiful course at The Oaks Golf Course in Cottage Grove. Registration includes green fees, a cart with GPS, range balls, tee gifts, lunch and a heavy hors d'oeuvres reception following golf. Competitors will be divided into two separate divisions, allowing contestants the opportunity to compete with individuals in their own age group. Division one will be made up of contestants under 65 years of age. Division two will be contestants ages 65 and older. Winners in both divisions will receive prizes!  All proceeds from this event support educational programs and exhibits at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum. REGISTRATION IS CLOSED! In Her Boots Reception

The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs invites you to an evening reception at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum to honor the women who contributed to the  "In Her Boots"  window display on the Capitol Square. Wisconsin women veterans whose boots were featured in the initial rotation (June 11 - July 29) will have the opportunity to retrieve their boots from WDVA during this event. The second rotation of the "In Her Boots" exhibit will be accessible in the Wisconsin Veterans Museum window for an extended duration. Light appetizers, refreshments, and opportunities for camaraderie will be provided. This event is free, however, please RSVP through Event Brite so we can obtain an accurate count.  RSVP here.  

Mess Night with Dr. John C. McManus

Please join us for our quarterly Mess Night dinner series with guest speaker Dr. John C. McManus. Dr. McManus is a professor of U.S. Military History at Missouri University of Science and Technology. He will be speaking about his latest work, To the End of the Earth: The U.S. Army and the Downfall of Japan, 1945, which looks at the closing stages of WWII in the Pacific and the American leaders who faced Japan’s unconditional surrender and lengthy occupation. Each MESS NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM features a guest speaker, topic, dinner, drinks, and time to socialize before and after the talk. Registration will be required before the event. Join us as we transform this historic naval tradition into our own.
