Historic Self-Guided Walking Tour of Madison

Get outside, go for a walk, and learn about the places in Madison connected to our state's rich military history. The “Madison's Every Place Has a Story Walking Tour” has 19 stops around the city and was created by the Wisconsin Veterans Museum staff. Along the tour you can read the about the historic stops, and view photographs from the museum collection. The tour can be accessed through Clio here. For the most dynamic experience the museum staff recommends users download The Clio – Your Guide to History app, available on Android and iOS. Clio is an educational website and mobile application that guides the public to thousands of historical and cultural sites throughout the United States. Tours on Clio are built by scholars for public benefit. The application and tour are free and can be accessed at anytime, onsite or remotely. Access the tour here.

WVMF Convoy Speaker Series Featuring Former SSG Eric Maddox

Join us on Sunday, June 27th, 2021 for this year's Convoy Speaker Series fundraiser at Terrace 167 in Richfield, WI. The event will feature keynote speaker former Staff Sergeant Eric Maddox. SSG Maddox was the interrogator attached to a Delta Force Team in Tikrit, who gathered the intelligence that led to the capture of Saddam Hussein. He wrote a book on his experience titled, Mission: Blacklist #1. There will be a VIP book-signing event starting at 10 AM until 11:30 AM. Tickets are $50/person. The costs includes his book, lunch and the keynote speech. General Admission cost is $25/person and includes lunch at 11:30 AM and program. If you can't make it in-person, you can join us virtually for $5 and we will send you instructions. This event was made possible by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 11038, in partnership with Washington County, the Village of Richfield, Camp Hometown Heroes and the Fisher House Wisconsin.
