• “Honor in the Air” Movie Screening

    SOLD OUT! Join us for a movie screening and discussion of Honor in the Air. It is a story of inspiration, dedication, valor and love, following the life of one soldier and those with whom he served. Wisconsin native, Captain Scott Alwin, served as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War with the 68th Assault Helicopter Company. He earned a record 136 Air Medals, but more important, he earned the respect of the men he served with and the love of a Vietnamese woman who became his wife. Scott Alwin was from Ft. Atkinson, attended UW-Madison for his undergrad degree, and is buried in Marathon County (Hamburg). Admission is free. Seating is limited to 60. Please RSVP here.

    The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs invites you to an evening reception at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum to honor the women who contributed to the  "In Her Boots"  window display on the Capitol Square. Wisconsin women veterans whose boots were featured in the initial rotation (June 11 - July 29) will have the opportunity to retrieve their boots from WDVA during this event. The second rotation of the "In Her Boots" exhibit will be accessible in the Wisconsin Veterans Museum window for an extended duration. Light appetizers, refreshments, and opportunities for camaraderie will be provided. This event is free, however, please RSVP through Event Brite so we can obtain an accurate count.  RSVP here.
